You hear the Earthworks SR25 cymbal microphone on nearly every online drumming channel. You see it out with all the top tours and best engineers. You feel it on your favorite albums. The SR25s have become the go-to cymbal, hi-hat and drum overhead microphone on top studio sessions, during the biggest festivals, and showcased on every drum video. They’ve been the hallmark of success and the fastest way to get the fullest sound. And now, the second generation builds on everything that the industry expects while improving on all aspects of usability and performance. We kept everything that you loved while giving you more of everything else that you asked for — and while typically used as stereo pairs, the singles are perfect for getting that extra sound on hi-hats and other speciality cymbals.

New Active Electronics

We’ve hardened the internal electronics to draw less phantom power and we’ve built in additional protection features to safeguard against accidental hot swapping. We all know that you shouldn’t plug in a condenser microphone with the power engaged but we also know that’s an inevitably in the field sometimes. These new stacked changes make the SR25 Gen 2 more robust, more compatible, and more user-friendly.

Staggering SPL Handling

The wide and generous sweetspot makes these microphones ideal for capturing hi-hats and cymbals. And with a staggering SPL rating of 145dB – your attack will never distort or overload.
